Because I will forget

I thought I'd write here a few things that Maliah has said lately so I don't forget.  This is for my old years when I look back and say "ah, I remember that" ... because without these notes, I might not.

1.)  "Wember" is remember.  Now, the whole family says "wember" in it's place.
2.)  At lunch she told me she didn't like "College Cheese".   HAHA.  My cottage cheese will never be the same.
3.)  Walking out of the store, an unopened tampon was on the ground.  Looking over she said "uh oh,   someone dropped the thing that's supposed to be in their bottom".  I couldn't contain my laughter.  And by the way, WHERE and HOW did she learn that one?
4.)  Her new cool phrase is "Oh, totally yeah"
5.)  On the way to school, I looked in the rear view mirror to see her hands raised, eyes closed, worshipping to Chris Tomlin's "Where you Go I'll Go".  She knows every word of the chorus.  A few second later, the radio went staticky so I had to turn stations.  Looking back in the rear view mirror, I see her worshipping to Kenny Chesney.  I guess worship is worship ... and I suppose it's the posture of the heart that matters?  The Lord created ol' Kenny too.  Worship on beautiful!

Love you to pieces angel!  I know I won't forget that one!

China Camp 2010

In August Maliah embarked on a second year of the amazing China camp hosted by my precious friend, Shawna.  Shawna, also an adoptive Mommy to a China beauty has worked and slaved for two different summers giving 8 of the most precious almond eyed beauties a heritage experience they won't soon forget.

Shawna's dining room is made over into a Chinese heritage sensation complete with a Great Wall to color, maps to locate birth places and provinces, Chinese music, books, noodles, games and more.  They made noodle necklaces, read about noodle-making and ate noodle-soup for lunch.  They looked at maps, learned about Pandas and even had a "Great Wall of China model they could all color.  A Chinese woman from the Confucius Institute came on the last day and taught the girls about paper-cutting artwork and taught them a popular Chinese children's son.  On the last day all the girls wore their Chinese silk outfits and posed for their yearly Chinese Heritage picture.  They are breathe taking!
As I look back over the picture I am awed at what the Lord has done here in San Antonio.  This is only a hand full of the Chinese girls we know.   These girls, with exception to one, are all 4 .. within a few weeks apart from one another.  AND, in this group, all but two were brought home through our adoption agency, America World Adoption.

What a fun week!  Shawna, you have blessed us immensely!
